Dig

I coulda told you
In the old days
In the park
or skating down some hill
What it was all about
I coulda sat next to you
On some stairway
And gave you half of my bubble gum
And in between the bubbles
And the giggles
I coulda told you
But we are grown up now
And it is all so complicated
When you dig somebody
Now when I open up my crackerjacks
I find no heartshaped ring
Only a puzzle
That I don't want to solve

Radiant

.

Soup

appreciate all the love and good vibrations that folks have been sending my way thru the years on this particular journey and i'm wishin you all peace love and power in your own journey as well. the elders say "love em all, trust a few, and fear none".... one love. peace.
\\
I'm D. I'm from the Bad Dreams Scary Time crew. You'll know it's me.

contrary to popular belief,
i don't think class or to be classy is sophistication,
i think class is excellence in humility

i think great ideas are great but
great ideas in the perfect moment are
extra special.

i like art, but i don't like museums.
something about 100s of folks staring at one thing
and crowds of people taking pictures defeats me.

I think if you're going to have a child,
pick a name with lots of vowels.
Vowels force the mouth to open,
and thus, more vibration comes out.
Next time you think of someone's name
think of how their name flows out when you say it.
Names can either identify you or
resonate within people as an afterthought.
Names dictate presence.

walking in nature.
untouched nature is beautiful.

everyone has a ((( vibration )))

i think women find the right partner when when they
find that person who can always bring out that
laughter inside of them that is youthful.
I read a quote today that said that 99% of the world's lovers aren't
with their number one choice, and that's what makes the jukebox play.
Hmmmm, is this true?

i think men find the right
partner when they think
that other person is deeply,
& genuinely funny

never stop learning.
hence, we smile

youth, adulthood, and old age
are happening within all of us at every given moment.
the trick is to be youthful, beautiful,
closer to the creator

this is what it takes to be at a simple peace.
to not be at war.

faith is huge.
it's bigger than the space between and around your ears.
no need for complicated philosophies.
the brain and the heart are temples.
the philosophy is kindness and soul.

science helps me understand the universe around me.
but faith, helps me see the whole universe that is within.
both are forms of seeing
on a very microscopic level,
a molecule looks like the whole universe.

I've stared evil in the eye a few times now,
and I see that it prefers to be numbed.
evil itself is very weak; jealousy is what is powerful.
because jealousy is self-created.

love is the thing that is hard to cultivate and make strong...
and encourage, and re-learn, and suffer through, and become blind with,
and sacrifice because of, and be alone with, and finally open up to.......
but once it grows, it is the great force.
it is the key to interconnection
it opens what is invisible to the eye

the mind unlike the heart,
has a short term memory.

i think out of all the people I know, I'm one of the shyest.
The trick is, if I need to, I can improvise myself
according to life.  Adaptation.
Language is the formula.
It's like having a set of keys.

Jackie Chan was one of my childhood heroes.
I saw one time in an interview when he
makes his movies, he has no plans for stunts.
He goes into his  environment and decides
where he might jump, and flip, and
how he can use his environment.
I view my life this way.

i used to always wear hats so others couldn't
see the color of aura around my head,
but now i give myself more exposure to the sun.

if u could be anything for a year
would you still be yourself?
You would?
So you're living the dream!
if there were one word that embodies me:
Soup.

We Were Once Words Whispered

A 6 am hike.  San Cipriano, Colombia
"Li"

We were once words whispered
When wanderers walked to
stop and talk of unwanted thoughts
Willingly whimsical
Watching woes flow down winding rivers
Wind kissed waters quiver
to the melancholy of morning

Warning signs of life arriving
Watch sorrow sigh as
Tomorrow dies
With death comes a newborn rising

Weakened will
Weakened will
"Without, within"
Strengthened still by timeless imagery
Silent synergy springs forth
Timeless memory

Empty embers invent inspired fire dances
Shadows shake in shivering shapes
As walls await for the slip of a whisper
We were once these words of youth and yearning
Truth thru learning
Burning brandished marks on virgin skin

Worlds within

We speak volumes written in common language
Delve deep, seek and see
we share similar sorrows
Shaped by tomorrows built
by trials of today

May we praise this day!
Claim its cause and
belong in all it believes of us

For by fortnight
We won't be too weak to say
That though the day may dwindle,
We loved simple in each second

Luckily, due to digital technology the data on these photos say they are from 27/11/08.
This note was written in the morning, on a river bank, on that day.

GRAFITTI 1977

This album and song have been on constant repeat on my latest roadtrip.
It makes funk ooze out of my ears.

Carlos Franzetti is a composer and arranger from Buenos Aires, Argentina.  He plays Fender Rhodes, moog, and acoustic piano on the record -- and the backings are full, but always nice and lean -- mixing bits of strings with Latin percussion, electric bass, guitar, and loads of great horns. A few cuts have some great scatting vocals alongside the instrumentation -- and the sound here is unlike anything else you might have heard. The record was only briefly issued in the 70s  with titles that include "Beatriz", "Lady Soho", "Romancero", the classic "Cocoa Funk", "Sweet & Low", and "Grafitti".

Quite reminiscent of the Mizell Brothers sound but has that intangible latin heat sprinkled in the crevices.

Colors

Sometime between now and forever colors will be seen.  Between their boundaries light will lay on their lines and rest for a while.  And when light awakes infinite shades will be made of dark and light and lines will no longer exist.  And when light gets up to ascend back to the sky, colors will leave an impression. Like wrinkles in fabric leaving patterns on skin, colors left a map of her moods.

How do you move me in ways where winds take to the shade and whisper the power of prayers?  What started in one's heart passes through one's lips and drifts into dreams only to take on the schemes of her colors.

Angels Rest

Today I hiked in the north of Oregon about 24 miles from Portland.

I am thankful that my Uncle drove me up there while he waited in the truck with his various reading materials. The hike itself was about 4.4 miles total. Prior to going up the cascade mountain range, I dropped off some thrones (pictures coming soon) at a very kind Indian family house. Raj was the guy's name; he was the photographer of my cousin Alex's wedding and he was kind enough to give me a quick lesson on how to use a camera flash. He gave me insights into his freelance photography business and I was very delighted to see the inside of a Hindu home. It was a good preface to my 3 hour hike up the mini mountain since I happened to have a copy of the Baghavad Gita in my backpack. The mountain was called Angel's Rest. It provides a nice view of the Colombia River gorge which separates Washington state with Oregon. According to my uncle, many ages ago a huge glacier melted and carved out this present-day gorge. Throughout my hiking experiences throughout the world, I must say, I'm a pretty big fan of gorges, they really make beautiful scenery. I also am a big fan so far of Indian families. Before we left, Raj's mother said, "Hey it was nice meeting you, we like you!!!"...as they waited by the doorway and waved bye.

Perhaps I shall post more pictures. Most of the photos I took atop the mountain I took on film, which I shall develop soon.

Some of my thoughts about hiking that I will post mostly as mental notes for myself:

♔ What's in front of you matters most....if you look too far ahead, you'll fall.
♔ Quiet the mind. Say a mantra inside. Not for its meaning, but for the way a singular thought can reverberate in your interior. Pretty soon, all thoughts fade away and the inner voice blends and vibrates with all the natural sounds around.
♔ I wore the wrong ass shoes. Walking is a pleasure, but not to your knees. Be good to your legs and feet.
♔ No matter how many difficult walks I've been on, my experiences don't make me any better or less proned to a challenging path. I have to respect each one.
♔ At one point in my mantra, I reached a moment of utmost clarity and concentration. I only focused on the ground in front of me, not even looking up.  I saw all the rocks moving by and I realized that God views life this way. It keeps moving, it never stops. I told myself I shouldn't dwell on things. Sometimes at home, I sit and dwell a lot, trying to perfect things. Keep the show moving.

View from about 30% into the hike
I was getting tired at this point. Looked up and thought, "That's probably where I'm going."

Dead trees at the top made me think I was almost there
Oregon on the left.  Washington state on the right of the river

This is Maltnomah Falls.  After the hike we drove there.  I was tired and my Uncle asked if I wanted to go up that bridge.  I said, "Nooooo, I just walked four miles on rocks and leaves....let's just take a picture down here."

The moon made an appearance

Over the shoulder is an example of the giant glacier carving into the mountain creating the gorge.  Tremendous energy. Wu wei

Last shot before long ride home.

Stardate 10.10.10

1st post.

I am currently writing this on a farm in Jefferson, Oregon.
Last night I slept in a barn.
There are a lot of flies here.
